Folicerin is a hair-loss support formula combining biotin, saw palmetto (320 mg), nettle extract, zinc, and a B-vitamin complex. The saw palmetto dose matches the Prager et al. 2002 clinical dose for mild-to-moderate androgenic alopecia — the strongest aspect of this formula. Biotin and zinc are at physiological cofactor levels. Nettle adds mild additional 5-alpha-reductase support. Unlike Profolan, Folicerin discloses specific doses for every active, making it easier to evaluate. The product will not match the efficacy of topical minoxidil or oral finasteride but has a more credible evidence base than most retail hair supplements. Recommended for men with early-stage androgenic alopecia who want to try a non-pharmaceutical approach first, or as an adjunct to pharmaceutical treatment.

Serving is 2 capsules daily. Saw palmetto at 320 mg is the gold-standard RCT dose. Biotin at 2.5 mg is on the high side but within safety margins. Zinc at 15 mg matches RDA. All doses are transparent — no proprietary blends.

Relative to Profolan, this is a cleaner, more evaluable formula. The saw palmetto dose is the standout — it's not high enough to replace finasteride but is the strongest saw-palmetto-based product we've evaluated in this price tier.

Saw palmetto is particularly vulnerable to potency loss during processing — standardization to fatty acids is not disclosed on the label (typical standards are 85–95% fatty acids). Well-tolerated. Occasional mild GI upset, nausea, or headache from saw palmetto. Rare: increased acne or oily skin (biotin-related). Very rare: mild libido decrease from saw palmetto's DHT modulation. Saw palmetto can interact with blood thinners, hormonal therapies, and may interfere with PSA testing — disclose to your physician.
